The course begins with a relatively short par 4 measuring just less than 400 yards from the back tees. A driver or fairway wood must avoid a pond on the right that narrows the landing area substantially - especially for the long drive. Saucon Creek runs behind the green with a bunker guarding the left side and a closely mown area serving as a false side on the front right portion of the green. Looking back from the green, one can view the beautiful slate-roofed barns that were once part of the original Bent Farm.
