Saucon Valley is the only club in the country that carries the distinction of having “sixty holes in one” – one complex, that is. In addition to its three championship courses, there is a six-hole course available to juniors and novice golfers. The “Short Course” at Saucon is a par 23 that features three par fours, one par five and two par three holes.
Spring and summer golf leagues and competitions are conducted for juniors on the course. To qualify for play on the championship courses unaccompanied by an adult, a junior golfer must be thirteen years of age and score better than 90 strokes in three trips around the Short Course. No easy task but the reward is well worth the wait.
Saucon Valley is truly unique in the world of golf. The attention to detail in maintaining all aspects of the facility is obvious. One cannot help but notice the varied plantings and specimen trees throughout the club’s 850 acres that provide a beautiful backdrop that attest to the care taken in the original design and in the way it has been maintained for future generations to enjoy.
